Despite the wind big catches are still coming off the island.

Its been windy and when the boats could get to the island there were some big catches coming in. Yesterday morning I counted 14 kings hanging on one fish board for a photo and another cooler bulging with its lid open.

The 4-year fish should be thinning by now more than they are – don’t ask me why so many are still here. Normally we have a big push of 3-year fish about now that stay and feed until winter comes. Could it be that the 3-year fish are a little afraid of hanging with the 4-year, bigger fish? Who knows.

Despite the wind the thremocline has stayed in the 100-120 zone. That’s not bad. You guys with your own boats need to get out there.

  1. Thanks for the info Bill.
