July 11, 2010 Big Salmon Are Here

Who said afternoon fishing isn't good?

9 of the 11 we caught.

It was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon on the water with family. We started in the middle of North Manitou and trolled to the north end, turned around and came part way back. All but one of the salmon we caught were 4-year kings and a too-big, throw-back trout.

Shelle didn't want to hold her fish so she got her husband to hold it for her. Look close and you'll see what I mean.

  1. Great fish, Bill! My parents were just up on Northport Point this last week and said Fishtown was buzzin’ when they went down to Leland. Good to see. I check out the Cove’s website and notice a lot of the charter fleet sitting at the docks most days. How are the trip rates compared to years past?

    Keep it up!

    • Trip rates are the same and I hope you noticed that mine are lower than most.
