I went to Leland this afternoon to check on the boat and met some of the other charter boat guys on the dock. Ron, a friend of ours, showed us his 31 foot Tiara that he had just bought and brought up from Ludington today. We all had a beer on board and threatened to use the head but didn’t, although one of the guys went over the side of the dock where he thought no one could see.
Jim and I took my boat out to the first bank for a shake down cruise. We looked for a few minutes for Lakers in one of their favorite haunts, but didn’t see very many. Just two evenings ago Jim and a bunch of friends found them in that spot and caught a bunch. We didn’t look further having satisfied ourselves that my boat is running just fine and the trout were close by.
Oh, the salmon, I almost forgot. Four were caught last weekend off South Manitou Island. It has started!
